Coupon Book
Once the form is submitted, the Place of Greats team will compile the information, create a nicely formatted coupon for the book, and reach out if any clarification is needed. We’ll share a proof of your coupon for approval before publication.
Frequently asked questions
Q: How long will our coupon run in the book?
A: The first edition of the Place of Greats Coupon Book will be valid for a defined period. We anticipate running the coupons for approximately [X months] (e.g., through the end of this year). The exact validity dates will be clearly stated on the coupon (for example, “Valid July 1 – Dec 31, 2025”). This gives customers ample time to redeem the offer, driving traffic to your business over several months rather than just a one-off spike. We will coordinate with you if any adjustments are needed.
Q: How will customers get and use the coupons? Do we need to track redemptions?
A: Place of Greats will distribute the coupon book digitally (and possibly in limited print) to our community. Customers might print the coupon or show it on their phone at your business to redeem it. We are not using unique promo codes or a centralized tracking system for each redemption – it works like a traditional coupon. We recommend treating it as you would any paper coupon: when a customer presents it, simply mark it or collect it (or note it in your point-of-sale system) so it’s one use per customer. You’re welcome to keep a tally of how many redemptions you see for your own insight, but there’s no formal reporting required. After the campaign, we may reach out to hear how it went and gather feedback, but redemption tracking is largely on the honor system and at your discretion. The focus is on bringing you customers; we won’t burden you with paperwork.
Q: Will my business be the only one of its type? What about competitors (exclusivity)?
A: Our aim is to feature a wide variety of local businesses in the coupon book, and we believe each business has something unique to offer. We are not strictly limiting one business per category – for example, there might be a few restaurants or multiple boutiques included. However, we do limit the same type of exact offer to keep the booklet diverse. Each participating business provides a distinct deal, and we avoid duplicate offers. The spirit is collaborative: a restaurant’s BOGO entree offer is different from another restaurant’s free dessert offer – both can shine without directly undermining each other. We understand you might be concerned about direct competitors; rest assured, the Place of Greats team is curating the coupons to ensure a good mix and to spotlight only quality, “great” businesses. This isn’t a massive coupon dump – it’s a curated collection. Every business featured was invited because we believe you’re among the greats! In future editions, we may explore category exclusivity, but for this free inaugural edition, our priority is to include as many wonderful local businesses as possible so the community (and you) get maximum benefit.
Q: Can I put any limits on the coupon (e.g., number of redemptions or conditions)?
A: Yes, you have control over the terms of your offer. On the sign-up form there’s a section for terms and conditions – this is where you can specify things like “One coupon per customer,” “New customers only,” “Not valid on Saturdays,” or even an overall cap like “First 50 customers only.” It’s up to you. Most businesses choose fairly straightforward limits (one per customer, can’t combine with other offers, etc.) to keep customers happy and avoid confusion. We generally don’t recommend setting a hard limit on the total number of redemptions (e.g., “first 100 uses”) unless absolutely necessary, because it can frustrate customers who miss out. However, if you are concerned about being overwhelmed, we can note a limit in the fine print. The coupon will also have a clear expiration date, after which you won’t need to honor it. All these details will be agreed upon before we publish the book. Our team can advise on best practices so your offer attracts customers but also protects your business from any unintended losses. We want this promotion to be successful and positive for you, so feel free to set reasonable conditions – we’ll make sure they’re communicated clearly on your coupon.
Q: What if I need to change or withdraw my offer?
A: If it’s before the publication deadline, just let us know – we can adjust your coupon details or even help you come up with a different deal if you have a change of heart. Once the coupon book is published and distributed, we generally ask that you honor the published offer through the expiration date (since customers will have it in hand). If an unforeseen circumstance arises (for example, you run out of a specific product that was offered, or have a temporary closure), communication is key – we can notify our community or work out a solution. Our goal is to maintain trust: customers should feel confident that the coupons in the book will be accepted. But we understand business realities, so just keep us in the loop and we’ll help navigate any issues.
